(Conjunction) Ex: If John is sick, I'm not. (Independent clause + Conjunction) Adverbs are words that are used to create superlative adjectives for adjectives. It can be used with many different types of adjectives including color, time, degree, size, etc. Adverbs are also great at creating comparisons between two things. For example: "This is the prettiest dress I have ever seen." Adjective: An adjective is a word used to describe a noun or a noun phrase. In other words, it describes the noun. Adjectives are placed before a noun or a noun phrase. For example: "A beautiful dress."
